Planning a trip to Dubai starts with a few practical questions. Which visa options exist, which documents are needed, and how long does the process take? This guide answers them in plain language, using the information published on Dubai-Visa.ae, so you can prepare before you start an application.

One point comes first. Dubai-Visa.ae offers tourist visas for leisure, family visits and short business trips. Whether one can be issued for you depends on your passport and on UAE requirements, so ask the team if your situation is unclear.

The visa options at a glance

Every option listed on the site combines a stay length, an entry type and a processing service:

  • 14 days stay, single entry, with regular or express processing.
  • 30 days stay, single entry, with regular or express processing.
  • 1 month multiple entry, with regular or express processing.
  • 3 months single entry, with regular processing.
  • 3 months multiple entry, with regular processing.

Prices and the processing estimate for each option appear on the visa fees page and again in the application. If you are deciding between stay lengths, our comparison of 30-day and extended stay options goes into detail, and the guide to single and multiple entry visas explains entry types.

Documents you will need

The application asks for the following. Always follow the instructions shown in the application itself, because they take priority over any overview.

  1. Passport information page, as a clear color image.
  2. Passport cover page.
  3. A recent photograph in front of a white or light-colored background.
  4. A flight booking that shows your arrival and departure dates.
  5. Accommodation confirmation that covers your stay.
  6. A birth certificate for applicants under 18, with a translation if it is not in English.

Our guide on preparing passport scans and photos shows how to produce images that are easy to review.

Passport requirements

According to the site's FAQ, the passport should be valid for at least six months from your intended date of entry and should have blank pages for stamps. A damaged passport may cause problems. Check these details before you do anything else, because they are the easiest to fix early and the hardest to fix late.

How the application works

  1. Choose a visa option and processing speed.
  2. Enter each traveler's details exactly as they appear in the passport.
  3. Upload the requested documents.
  4. Review everything on the confirmation page.
  5. Pay by card to submit the application.
  6. Watch your email for a confirmation containing your application reference number, and later for your e-visa.

Up to five travelers can be included in one application. Our guide to families and groups explains how to organize that.

Timing

Processing estimates are published for each option and are measured in working days. They are estimates, not promises of approval or delivery on a particular date. Processing begins after payment once your documents have been verified as clear and complete, and it restarts if a document has to be replaced. A sensible habit is to apply two to three weeks before you travel, and earlier for busy periods. Read our processing times guide for more detail.

Mistakes that cause delays

  • Applying with a passport that is close to expiry.
  • Uploading blurry or cropped images.
  • Entering details that do not match the passport.
  • Choosing an entry type or stay length that does not fit your route.
  • Leaving the application to the last minute.

The article on common application mistakes covers each of these.

After you apply

Your e-visa is sent to the registered email address as a PDF. Read every detail, keep a digital copy and carry a printed copy with your passport. Our guide on what happens after you apply describes each stage.

Summary

The requirements are straightforward when you prepare in order: check your passport, choose the option that matches your route, gather clear documents and review the form before paying. Compare the options on the visa fees page, check the FAQ for quick answers, and begin your application when your plans are settled.
